Autoflowering Seeds (self-flowering) automatically begin to flower after a few weeks - regardless of the light cycle. They are fast, compact, and particularly easy to handle, making them ideal for efficient grows and beginners. Photoperiodic strains, on the other hand, only flower when the daily hours of light decrease, but often produce larger yields. Depending on the breeder and strain, the seeds are available in different pack sizes - the usual options are packs of 1, 3, 5, or 10 seeds, while some regular lines are also available in packs of 12. A proven method is the paper towel method: Place the seeds between two damp (not wet) paper towels and keep them consistently moist in a dark, warm place at around 21-25 °C. The taproot will appear after 2 to 7 days. Then carefully place the seed a few millimeters deep in the growing medium with the root facing downward. Never touch the delicate taproot directly.
Most cannabis seeds germinate within 2 to 7 days. Fresh, high-quality seeds generally germinate faster and more reliably. Consistent warmth, moisture, and darkness are important - too much moisture or cold can delay or prevent germination.
Yes. With indoor cultivation, you control the light, temperature, and humidity yourself and are independent of the season. With outdoor cultivation, you use natural sunlight, save electricity, and can potentially grow larger plants, but you are dependent on the weather and season. Autoflowering strains are particularly fast and are often ready to harvest after just around 8 to 12 weeks from germination. Yield depends heavily on the strain, growing method, light, and experience and cannot be guaranteed across the board. The yield figures provided for each strain are guidelines under good to optimal conditions. Larger pots, sufficient light, and good care have a positive impact on the harvest quantity.
